Become a TAP Butterfly

Fighting for everyone's right to a joyful experience of sport
You can be part of the TAP Team!

TAP Butterflies are on the front line of promoting a more compassionate world through sport. They deeply understand the need for our work.

TAP Butterflies receive a monthly email with 3 challenges. It might be to share a social media post, try a new exercise, or even promote one of our programmes in their community. Butterflies receive training to help them to be as impactful as possible, as well as discounts to TAP programmes and an invitation to TAP's monthly sangha (a community of mindfulness practice via Zoom, every last Thursday of the month).

Our team regularly advocate through conferences, think tanks, interviews, and policy roundtables, in order to promote and develop our holistic approach to sport. Through these efforts, we hope to inspire many more people to reflect on the sporting environment in their own communities, challenge the status quo and make a difference.

A True Athlete uses their platform to make positive change...

Picture
TAP Mentee, Souleyman Bah, knew he could influence young people through his story. He has now shared his inspirational journey of resilience in over 100 primary schools!

Picture
Basketballer Leo Harland-Sendra has taken a keen interest in the state of public sports facilities in his area. Seeing the importance of sport, he has used all his passion and determination honed as an athlete to petition the council to row back on their price hikes of basketball court hire.

Picture
Rachel Smith is a TAP mentor, who has played a key role in advocating for her fellow gymnasts in Great Britain. She is currently collecting stories of athletes who have suffered abuse.

Picture
TAP Mentor Etienne Stott has been passionately pursuing environmental justice, joining protests and campaigns to pressure governments into a greener agenda.

Picture
Christina Fischborn is a TAP mentee from Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was recently nominated for her school's Shining Star Award for her extra-curricular activities, using her platform to be a role-model for others at her school.

Picture
TAP Mentee, Sophia Potter, loves giving back through coaching younger girls at her fencing club. Since her involvement with TAP, she has begun introducing the girls to mindfulness. A wonderful example of the ripple approach of being a #trueathlete.

Picture
Pam Boteler is the President of WomenCAN International. She is a passionate advocate of gender equity in sport and after decades of campaigning, women's sprint canoe was given equal status to men at the Olympics.

Picture
Laurence Halsted encourages other athletes to use their platforms for change. He has written articles in The Guardian and The Nation, and is currently writing a practical philosophy for sport.

There are many more examples of our true athletes making a difference in the world - be it small acts of kindness and consideration, or big acts at a socio-political level. We hope you will join the effort!
