A "Whole-Person, Socially-Conscious" Approach
What We Do:
We provide tailored support for national governing bodies / federations, drawing on the world-class, interdisciplinary expertise of our team to help you improve performance, nurture mental wellbeing, and build a more compassionate culture of sport! |
A package of support could range from a short series of workshops to a multi-year partnership which may include a combination of: mentoring programmes, coach, leadership, and volunteer development (either in-situ or via online workshops), support at athlete development camps, retreats, webcasts and community education workshops, social impact strategy support, monitoring and evaluation support, and theory of change development.
How We Work: Our practitioners will consult with you to understand your needs and challenges before co-designing a bespoke offer for your leadership, coaches, athletes and volunteers. Our ultimate goal is to help you develop a sustainable way forwards, so that our work together grows in strength long after you work with us. Why Is This Critical? Given the current crises around duty of care and athlete welfare, there has never been a more important time to invest in this holistic approach to sport, and demonstrate how performance and a caring culture of sport are not mutually exclusive. Case Study: Basketball ScotlandWe are thrilled to be working with Basketball Scotland, an organisation that passionately believes in everyone's right to a joyful experience of sport. We are delivering three projects: 1) training their new social impact officers to deliver impact through a "School of Basketball" initiative designed to promote wellbeing and life skills of young people at risk of poor academic attainment and reduce the gap between Scotland's highest and lowest areas of deprivation; 2) training their new "Wellbeing Ambassadors" to nurture a caring environment within basketball clubs across Scotland; and 3) designing a mental wellbeing short course for basketball coaches and training tutors to deliver the course.

Case Study: American Volleyball Coaches Association"They delivered five workshops. At the first one, there were a handful of coaches. At the second workshop, there were about 10 to 20 coaches. Gradually through the convention word spread. 50 coaches. 200 coaches. At their fifth workshop, there were about 400 coaches all doing a mindful walk through the convention with each other!"

Case Study: We Play TogetherWe also work in an embedded way with 'We Play Together' - not an NGB, but a wellbeing charity that "want people to experience improved wellbeing by having the resources they need to meet the challenges they face in order for them to make a contribution to their community." We support the design and delivery of a range of activities for coaches, children and young people, and community groups. We advise on the organisation's social impact strategy, monitoring and evaluation systems and much more. Recently we have helped them to launch as a new entity (they were previously two organisations) and re-brand as "We Play Together".
