Learn how mindfulness can strengthen our ability to; handle high-stress situations and pressure, work with doubt and anxiety, overcome and work with injuries, stay focused and present, be patient and consistent, prepare for competition, and create environments in which athletes can flourish. This special weekend retreat is designed to continue the learning from part 1, and deepen your practice. Connect mind and body with physical exercises that demonstrate how the mind can be a powerful ally when facing pain and struggle. Explore how a mindfulness-based approach to sport can enhance performance, nurture mental wellbeing, and cultivate a more compassionate society. Together, we will examine how you can be a leading light in the sporting sector as an organisation that "walks the walk" when it comes to delivering world-class duty of care. A workshop for athletes or coaches keen to understand how an athlete's sense of identity can affect their long-term sporting ambitions. You will learn a 5-step method for discovering your personal values and then explore how those values can be used as powerful anchors and drivers towards being the best version of you, both in sport and life. In moments of uncertainty, instability, or conflict, Compassionate Communication provides a clear and powerful framework for grounding us and clarifying our needs, and in taking action to meet those needs. Few other tools can empower people so quickly and effectively to self-coach, coach others, or reconcile differences in times of stress. Reflect on why competitive sport is perfectly suited for developing the value of compassion, both for oneself and for others. We will explore how an approach to competitive sport founded on love has greater potential power than traditional notions of sport being about ruthlessly seeking to dominate and defeat your opponents at all costs. Cultivating a grateful mindset during times of adversity can build resilience, enhance wellbeing, and optimize performance. In this class, athletes will gain practical knowledge and skills on using gratitude to shift their perspective, be present, build connection, and cope effectively when facing uncertainty in sport and in life. Discover how to make the most of the myriad opportunities for personal and athletic growth that come our way every day. Learn how to be process-driven and goal-oriented, building your improvement “one brick at a time” as you embark on a journey that connects daily ambition with the ability to skillfully advocate for wider social change. You will be matched with one of our leadership coaches who will provide you with executive coaching specifically pertaining to the mental and emotional wellbeing of leaders and their stakeholders, providing space for reflection and learning, and building resilience through these times. Strategies may include compassionate communication (NVC) and mindfulness for the workplace. Attain an accredited qualification and potentially change a life, with this OFQUAL Mental Health First Aid course. A workshop for families of athletes, to help you support your young athlete through the trials and tribulations of sport. Amidst the pressure and uncertainty of competitive situations, athletes can choose to protect themselves and their ego, rather than put themselves and their emotions on the line. In order to reach their potential and meet pressure with courage, they must be prepared to seek out and embrace moments of vulnerability. Without an understanding of the reality of vulnerability and courage, an athlete will forever be at the mercy of their changing mood and state of mind. As coaches and leaders we can learn to role-model embracing vulnerability and increase awareness around those uncomfortable moments during performance which mark the threshold to the courageous path. In this class, you will learn more about your own relationship to vulnerability, discover how you can meet it with courage to elevate performance, and explore opportunities to support others in doing so.
