"A Whole-Person, Socially-Conscious Approach to Sport"
The Wellbeing Partnership is the only cross-sport collaborative pathway intervention in the UK. It brings together four sporting national governing bodies (Archery GB, Boccia England, England Handball, and Goalball UK) to create a pioneering “whole-person, socially-conscious” approach to athlete development. The Sport England funded partnership led by The True Athlete Project builds on the unique strengths of each governing body, delivering innovative mindfulness based training techniques that engage sport as a powerful tool for self-mastery and increased overall awareness. The partnership aims to demonstrate the power of sharing and learning across sports, and how - in practice - we can build caring, inclusive environments that promote athlete welfare and wellbeing, and keep athletes loving their sport.
Celebrating a Powerful Partnership Watch the CAMP ROUND UP video
In January 2024 TAP brought together athletes and coaches from the Wellbeing Partnership for a weekend-long training camp. The Wellbeing Partnership Cross Sport Training Camp was a first of its kind, groundbreaking initiative. Embodying TAP’s mission to reimagine the culture of sport, the camp adopted a visionary approach to athlete development that transcended conventional boundaries to prioritise the holistic well-being of the individuals at the heart of these organisations.
This cross sport training camp was conceived with a multifaceted purpose, aiming to foster an environment where individuals from diverse backgrounds and abilities could converge to nurture mental, emotional, and physical skills, while also cultivating inclusive cross-sport collaboration, and a deep-seated passion for sports. |

Ricardo Vasconcelos, England Handball
"Planning the joint camp was as enjoyable as it was inspiring. Too often we end up closed in our own sport specific context and we lose perspective. Having to plan for such a diverse group of athletes and coaches, had the ability to broaden our horizons and place us in a vulnerable place where we had to reflect, adapt and, with it, learn and develop.

Cait Leach, Archery GB
"The cross-sport camp was a pretty ambitious project to connect athletes and coaches from four very different sports for a weekend of sharing and learning together. Over just two days, the change was profound. It was brilliant to see team members blossoming in confidence and care for one another.
